WELCOME TO DOMITILLA DE PAOLI'S WEBSITE

Hi everyone! I am a Strategic Management student at Luiss University.
This is my digital professional profile where you can find information about me, my university projects and much more!
I hope you enjoy it!

About Me

I am Domitilla de Paoli, a  graduate student in Economics and Business at Luiss Guido Carli University. I am currently attending the Master’s degree in Strategic Management at Luiss, where I am about to start my second and final year.

In my spare time I like to play sports, read and listen to music, but above all I like to travel around my city, Rome. Besides, when I have the opportunity to travel I take it! I like to immerse myself in a new culture and learn as much as possible from different people.

Furthermore, ever since I was in high school, I have always used my free time working as a private tutor, babysitter and as a conference hostess.

My Studies

High School

I graduated in June 2019 from the Lucrezio Caro High School in Rome – specialising in languages – where I was able to study English, French and Spanish.
This is why I decided to pursue my university studies in English

Bachelor's Degree

I graduated in July 2022 in Economics and Business from the Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome. I completed my Bachelor’s degree with a thesis in Management, concerning gender diversity and inclusion in boards of directors, more specifically focused on the sports industry

Master's Degree

I am attending a Master’s degree in Strategic Management at Luiss Guido Carli University where I will graduate in 2024.
The Master’s programme is exciting because it covers all the study topics I am passionate about concerning business management. In addition, it follows the new Fully Enquired Based learning model, which calls for an active and continuous participation in the lessons, as well as a continuous assessment method contributing to the final grade.

Latest University Projects

Garnier Challenge
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

How to make green science relevant to the Italian consumer? My team and I have come up with a solid product line: SOSkincare
The products have been made even more sustainable with packaging made entirely of plant-based paper.
For the project, an analysis was made of what sustainability means to Italian, French and British consumers. We then went on to analyse what the big players in the beauty market are doing to address the issue of sustainability. The results of the analysis were introduced in an executive summary, and finally we proposed an all-round marketing plan to activate the concept of green science in Italy

Analysis of Sanofi-Aventis Tender Offer for Genzyme
ADVANCED CORPORATE FINANCE

The project envisaged the drafting of a report containing the qualitative and quantitative analyses carried out on the case operation and the companies involved.
To this, an analysis of the operation, the reference context, the actors involved, the hypotheses and the evaluation analyses were added. The latter were carried out through the estimation of the cost of capital, the multiples method, the discount cash flow model and sensitivity analyses carried out using Excel.
Through analysis, we were able to answer the research question: Is it Genzyme a good strategic fit for Sanofi?

Development of a Case Study Based on a Business Problem
BUSINESS STRATEGIES

My team and I studied the growth problem in a family business in the province of Naples. After the identification of the business problem, we proceeded to the analysis of archive data, reports and several articles. We then proceeded to conduct semi-structured interviews with subjects from the different company departments and were able to highlight the crucial elements of the problem. Finally, the case study was produced based on elements that emerged in the interviews and the analysis of data from archives.

Why Companies Should Treat Their Employees Well
ECONOMICS FOR MANAGEMENT

Starting from an article in ‘The Economist’ from August 2019, ‘why firms should treat their employees well‘, my team and I researched the topic to be presented as a case study.
New research has found a link between employee and consumer satisfaction

Report on Changes in Corporate Organisational Structures in Italy
ORGANISATIONAL DESIGN & QUANTITATIVE METHODS IN STRETEGIC MANAGEMENT

The objective of the report was to illustrate what changes in terms of organisational structure were most adopted in Italy to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic.
An overview was given of the response that companies offering services – and specifically, companies operating in the catering sector – put in place to cope with the shock caused by the pandemic.
Through the administration of a questionnaire, it was possible to obtain information from those working in the sector under analysis and a statistical analysis was conducted which showed how the businesses changed their organisation following the shock.
